university preparation in Austria

The preparatory course for university (= foundation course) consists of a German course, cultural programme, an exam preparation and tutorials with the ActiLingua Placement Advisor who will guide you through the application process.

German Course

A preparatory German course with a duration of 13 to 39 weeks is an excellent foundation for meeting the challenges of university studies.

Your German course consists of 4 daily lessons (Standard Course) or 6 daily lessons (Intensive Course) in small international study groups following a recognized curriculum.

Exam preparation and ÖSD-exam Mittelstufe

An additional certificate preparation course gears you up for taking an internationally recognized exam. You get to know typical exam questions and get ready with sample tasks.

ÖSD (= Österreichisches Sprachdiplom) Certificates: Grundstufe Deutsch, Zertifikat Deutsch, ÖSD-Mittelstufe (recognized by Austrian and most German universities as fulfilling language entrance requirements), Wirtschaftssprache Deutsch

Note:

  • Depending on your knowledge of German, your lessons will take place in the morning or in the afternoon.
  • The schools are closed on Official Holidays; when holidays occur on Monday, courses start on Tuesday. Course hours are not replaced.
  • Absolute beginners must start their language course on certain dates only.
